1. What are the  5 most common pathologies of cows? Mention them and give a little description too.

  • Mastitis:
Bovine mastitis is the persistent, inflammatory reaction of the udder tissue due to physical trauma or microorganisms infections. It is also the most costly disease to the dairy industry. Milk from cows suffering from mastitis has an increased somatic cell count.

  • Babesiosis
Babesiosis is caused by intraerythrocytic protozoan parasites of the genus Babesia.
Lesions include an enlarged and friable spleen; a swollen liver with an enlarged gallbladder containing thick granular bile; congested, dark-colored kidneys; and generalized anemia and jaundice




  • Brucelosis

Bovine brucellosis is a contagious disease of cattle, It is also transmitted to man. It produces abortions, placental retention and production of weak offspring


  • Foot and mouth disease



Foot and Mouth Disease is a viral disease, characterized by fever and vesicle formation mainly in the oral cavity, snout and coronary impellers of the hooves.


  • Tuberculosis

Bovine tuberculosis is a chronic disease of animals caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium bovis, they form in the lymph nodes of the affected animal.
